Founder BMB Holidays and Bernard Magee Bridge
Bernard Magee
Bernard Magee is the UK’s best-known bridge teacher and host, and has built up a tremendous following from his regular and highly popular articles in Bridge magazine. He is the author of best-selling interactive tutorial software and DVDs on Acol Bridge available from the Bernard Magee Bridge Shop. Bernard has also published numerous bridge books. Now he is engaged in running his new bridge website, basing the content around videos and live broadcasts. Bernard has been running bridge events for over twenty years; all over the UK, hotels all over Europe and cruises all over the world. He lives in Berkshire with his wife Helen and their son Alfie, who some of you may have met already as they occasionally accompany him on his events.

Jim Mason
Jim Mason lives in Loughborough, where he has been a member of the Leicestershire county bridge first team for almost 40 years. He is a past chairman of the County Bridge Association and his proudest moments at the table include representing Great Britain at junior international level and winning the prestigious Gold Cup teams competition. These days, Jim plays competitive bridge less frequently, although he still runs occasional classes for beginners and improvers. As a member of the Bernard Magee Bridge team, he enjoys helping and hosting on cruises and at BMB events up and down the country. Away from the card table, Jim enjoys watching a variety of sports, running a Fantasy Football League and taking part in pub quizzes.

Lyn Hilton
Lyn Hilton lives in Leicestershire with her 3-legged, one year old rescue dog Tya, her two children have grown and flown. She has been playing bridge since the age of 17. Initially playing kitchen bridge and then learnt properly when she was 30. She is a qualified bridge teacher, director and plays bridge for the Leicestershire team. She is a member of three clubs within the country and teaches within the county club. Lyn loves teaching and thoroughly enjoys helping people to improve their game. For her, one of the best parts of the seminar events is the play of the set hands sessions and with BMB it is the Saturday morning novices. She thoroughly enjoyed working on the Mr Bridge holidays, travelling around the UK and to different countries on the land-based holidays and cruises. She was with Mr Bridge for a number of years and has been a part of BMB bridge since its inception, especially working with the novices who are doing so well this year.

Mark Rixon
Mark started playing bridge when he was 16 after his Aunty introduced him to whist. He enjoys studying the game and enjoys seeing how the game changes over time. Mark has helped in many BMB events including running little bridge with his wife Louise on the cruise ship Balmoral. Mark is a regular player on BMB Teams events. He is an EBU-qualified Teacher and Director. He plays his bridge at Folkestone bridge club where he directs and runs seminars for the members. Away from the card table Mark is a retired biology teacher. He is a qualified DofE assessor and the wedding registrar at his local church. He enjoys reading and is writing a novel. He is also an advocate for spreading awareness of pancreatic cancer having been diagnosed with the disease in 2023. Mark and Louise live in Dover with two birds and lots of tropical fish.
